    Apparat - “Limelight”

During the years that I worked as a waitress, I would often fantasize about how easy and great it must be to work in an office. I couldn’t wait to get out of college.

Now that I work in an office, of course, I want that lack of responsibility back. How easy it was to carry a tray, or punch numbers into a register. How fun it was to complain about customers together, to laugh and swear in the kitchen, to drop plates and spill drinks on ourselves. And then huddle into a booth together at the end of the night, everyone counting their tips, shirts unbuttoned at the neck, in that soft glow of the empty restaurant.

I miss all those nights we stayed out late, drank too much, and lost our voices the next morning.

    truth.

The theme song from X-Men the animated series.

I’ve been watching this on late night TV this week and just really enjoying every second of it. If I ever have the spare cash, I’m getting the DVDs.

And I stand by my claim this song is ripe for sampling.

    Happy Friday, Tumblr!
